Dr. Melanie Ballard, OD, is originally from Conneaut, Ohio, and moved to central Ohio to attend Otterbein University. Upon completing a degree in Life Sciences with a molecular biology concentration, she worked in that field at The Ohio State University. During that time, she discovered a passion for having positive and impactful interactions with people each day; this combined with a lifelong interest in healthcare to spark her interest in optometry and led Dr. Ballard to attend the College of Optometry there. After graduating in 2008, she completed a residency focused on ocular disease, cornea, and post-operative eye care. In her free time, Dr. Ballard enjoys gardening, camping, hiking, cycling, and spending time with her husband and family.
