Dr. Amanda Thompson, OD, was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. After achieving a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science at Indiana University in 2008, she went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at Indiana University School of Optometry in 2013. Her clinical training involved ocular disease detection and management at the Hudson Valley Veterans Hospital in Montrose, New York, as well as the Lexington VA Medical Center in Kentucky.
After interning at the VA hospitals, she went on to intern under the pediatric specialists at Indiana University Vision Centers. At the pediatric specialty site, she excelled at creating vision training plans. In addition to her training in ocular disease and pediatrics, she has had the opportunity to attend Johnson & Johnson’s Vision Care - Contact Lens Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, where she gained experience fitting several specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Thompson is board-certified and specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease. She also has a particular interest in pediatrics and contact lenses. Outside of the office she enjoys spending her free time hiking and being a new mother.
