About Sonia Salas
Sonia Salas, OD, is a comprehensive optometrist in Chesterfield, MO at Clarkson Eyecare. Dr. Salas was born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. She was a "lab rat" in San Francisco before pursuing her optometry degree in Fullerton, CA for a more gratifying career in healthcare. Dr. Salas graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 2009 and started her professional work in San Diego.
In 2012, Dr. Salas and her family moved to St. Louis, MO after her spouse joined the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. She completed an optometric residency with the St. Louis Veteran's Administration in 2015. Dr. Salas worked in several areas of optometry including pediatrics and ocular disease before joining Clarkson Eyecare in 2020. Fun facts: Dr. Salas climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan and finally visited her mother's homeland of Cuba in 2017.
