Dr. Deborah Blansett, OD, graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 1996 cum laude, with both a Doctor of Optometry degree and a Masters of Science in Physiological Optics. Her master's thesis involved studying an investigational medication, Cyclosporine A, which is now marketed as Restasis and used to treat dry eye in humans.
Dr. Blansett completed a residency in hospital-based optometry at the Tuscaloosa VA Hospital and was a member of the University of Alabama at Birmingham faculty for several years before entering private practice. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry in 2013. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Northeast Texas Optometric Society (NETOS). Dr. Blansett resides in Gunter, TX with her husband and two children. Dr. Blansett enjoys running and Alabama football.
