Dr. Donald J. Siegel, OD, graduated with honors from St. Mary’s College in Moraga California. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley, earning awards for clinical excellence and research and was honored as the valedictorian.
Dr. Siegel has partnered with Pilkington Barnes Hind as a clinical researcher developing new soft contact lens products and subsequently joined the University of California San Francisco department of Ophthalmology as a Senior optometrist specializing in difficult to fit contact lenses on infants born with cataracts and adults with keratoconus and corneal transplants. He managed the department's multiple research studies.
He was recruited to Bausch and Lomb as a director of clinical research and product development for gas permeable and soft contact lenses. Dr. Siegel has also been an invited speaker at the Academy of Optometry in the U.S. and in China as well as the British Contact Lens Association and many professional meetings in the U.S.
