Ahdal Sekhon, OD

Dr. Ahdal Sekhon is an optometrist at Clarkson Eyecare who is passionate about providing comprehensive, personalized eye care while building meaningful relationships with every patient he serves. He believes excellent eye care begins with listening, understanding each patient's unique needs, and creating an environment where patients feel comfortable, valued, and confident in their eye health.

A Northern Virginia native who grew up in Lake Ridge, Dr. Sekhon is excited to begin his career serving the community he has always called home. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating cum laude, before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Drexel University, where he graduated summa cum laude as a member of the Class of 2026.

Dr. Sekhon's passion for optometry began in 2017 when he started his career in the optical field. Early in his career, he was fortunate to be mentored by a general manager and optometrist from Italy who became an important role model and helped inspire his journey into optometry. That experience sparked his love for the eyes and strengthened his desire to pursue a career centered around patient care. His clinical interests include primary care, ocular disease, dry eye, contact lenses, glaucoma, diabetic eye care, cataract co-management, and low vision.

During his fourth-year clinical rotations, Dr. Sekhon earned honors in every rotation and gained experience caring for patients across a variety of clinical settings. His favorite was his rotation at the Salem VA Medical Center, where he had the privilege of caring for America's veterans and was inspired by the opportunity to serve those who helped protect the freedoms we enjoy today. He also participated in a SVOSH mission trip to Jamaica, where he and his fellow volunteers provided eye care to approximately 1,300 patients and helped provide more than 700 pairs of eyeglasses to underserved communities. He is also a member of the Virginia Optometric Association.

Dr. Sekhon is excited to join Clarkson Eyecare and serve patients throughout Lake Ridge, Alexandria, and Fredericksburg. He looks forward to providing knowledgeable, compassionate care while developing lasting relationships with his patients and giving back to the community where he grew up. Outside the office, he enjoys watching Formula 1 and cheering on his favorite driver, Max Verstappen, working on his car, playing with his niece, and traveling to India to spend time with his family.
