Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job in Columbus, OH

Our center is interested in hiring a caring and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our growing team in a non-traditional setting. The COTA will be responsible for implementing programs developed by the Occupational Therapist in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will also collaborate with facility staff to enhance the physical, mental and social well-being for patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test and evaluate physical and mental abilities of patients
  • Analyze relevant medical information to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals
  • Consult with rehabilitation team to choose effective activity programs
  • Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments
  • Assist in educating patients with home exercise programs and use of equipment
  • Participate in education and staff development course

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state
  • Knowledge of principles, methods and equipment used in occupational therapy body mechanics
  • Able to understand and interpret complex written or verbal instructions
  • Excellent customer service skills
